Flea Remedies Start on the Inside

flea remedies

Flea remedies, regardless of the type, start on the inside. That is the inside of your pet. Fleas tend to like pets with weak or weaker immune systems. Weaker immune systems are generally found in young puppies and kittens and pets with deficient diets that do not promote good health and strong immune systems.

Proper diets are essential for strong immune systems. A raw diet is reported to be the best diet, but not everyone can manage the time for this type of diet. To replace the raw diet, stay away from by-products, chemical preservatives and other fillers. Read the ingredient list ensuring that grains are not the first ingredient listed. To stay some what inline with a raw diet meat should be the first and foremost ingredient on the label.

Fleas do not like the taste of garlic and/or B vitamins. Supplements such as these can usually be purchased at your local pet food store. However, it should be noted that dogs can have allergic reactions at times, so it is a good idea to keep a close eye on your pet for the first week or so after starting the supplements. And don’t forget fatty acids, they will strengthen the immune system as well as help the skin and coat.

There are plenty of flea remedies on the market today. But for these to work a few basic steps that start on the inside must be in order to give these flea remedies a fighting chance. Start your pet off on the right foot by ensuring they have the correct diet to prompt a healthy and strong immune system. They will love you for it. For flea remedies to work properly, you must ensure your pet is healthy on the inside!

Flea Remedies Go Beyond The Pet

Fleas can be a major headache for pet owners. Their infestations can be harmful and often sends pet owners scurrying for flea remedies, fly swatters and anything else flea remediesthey can find to fight these little pests. Advanced medications have come a long way to help prevent and control flea infestations. However, the best medications will never work completely unless the entire environment is cleansed of the fleas.

How do your pets get the fleas in the first place? Flea eggs and larvae generally develop in places such as your yard; they do not have to be on your pet to grow. Adult fleas then jump on to the host, your pet, as they come near. To think that treating your pet for fleas will be the end of it is wrong. You have to not only treat your pet but you must treat the environment in which your pet lives. Treating your pet then letting them return to the flea source is doing nothing more than giving the flea a clean place to live.

Good flea remedies can and will rid your pets of fleas. There are a variety of flea remedies on the market today; shampoos, combs, topical solutions and natural remedies as well. Shampoos are good, just remember to go by the directions and do not rinse too early. Combs are probably the least effective remedies today, but are a good tool to use as a preventive maintenance type action between medications, shampoos and topical solutions. The topical solutions seem to be the best defense for fleas today. Some of the topical solutions can work four to eight weeks. Not sure which one to try? Stop by your local vet for advice and be sure to check for precautions.

Our pets are our friends and family members. If or when they get fleas we should do all we can to help them battle the little pests. Your little buddy will love it. Remeber flea remedies go beyond the pet.

Until Next Time,
